The most accurate answer to most questions

Patients and families might think doctors are playing it safe when they answer their questions with, ‘It depends.’

It really does.

Patient outcomes are difficult to determine. They can generally follow a certain trend but not in absolute terms.

The only definite answer is whether we will all die. But before then, it depends.

It also doesn’t have to only be about health matters. Business, relationships, innovations, ideas, hypotheses, launches, survival, competition, courses, the end of the world — all these are not definite.

In truth, it depends.
